Land Acknowledgements

We recognize that we work and live on land entrusted to the Muskogee (Creek) Nation after the forced relocation of thousands of Indigenous peoples through the Indian Removal Act of 1830. We also honor and acknowledge the other Indigenous peoples who have been the keepers of this land, including the Caddo, Cherokee, Osage, Quapaw, and Wichita Nations.

We occupy a portion of territory forcibly taken from these Nations by the United States government, and redistributed through actions rooted in colonization and white supremacy as a way to further confine, control, erase, and eliminate the Indigenous peoples of this land.

We acknowledge the events, past and present, that impact the Indigenous peoples of this land, and we pledge to honor their wisdom and legacy through our work, our values, and our continued education.
